Paul McIntosh 2005
I saw you in my tractor mirror comin way way back
chrome was shiny in my eyes and you was gleamin black on black
I thought at first a Thunder bird or a brand new fancy Lexus
but soon I knew Ooh Ford Excess or GM Dallas Texas
The sticker there said 4x4 a big and shiny statement
but you would only drive on level a1 flat black pavement
You see I thought that you'd just move off and take a bit of shoulder
Cuz Strange but on the TV those things climb right over boulders
in your Suburban Underutilized vehicle
you nearly put my great big John Deere tractor in a pickle
Your Gucci shades were mirrors but I could see you stare
And your chubby middle finger was a stickin in the air
Ten miles up the road, my favorite service station
I was thinking coke and snacks but imagine my elation
there it was your big black truck takin up 3 stalls
I pulled in real careful like and slowed down to a crawl
Just then a big old bumble bee crawled out of some dirt
woke up with a start and took up buzzin in my shirt
just how it could have happened was a mystery to me
with a bump thud my big green John Deere squished your SUV
Your Suburban Under-utilized Vehicle
Rolled out flat beneath me and I hardly felt a wiggle
Your soup was drippin down your chin as you stared out at me
with a bump thud my big green John Deere squished your SUV
with a bump and a thud my great big green john deere squished you SUV
